Baseball: Whitefish Bulldogs Sink Polson for Conference Dub

    The Whitefish Bulldog Baseball team was back in action, on Tuesday, as they traveled to Polson for a battle with the Pirates.

    This was the first conference game between the two teams since baseball became a high school sanctioned sport.

    The Dawgs showed up and showed out as they came away with the 12-1 drubbing.

    Logan Stewart got the start for Whitefish and picked up his first win of the season. Stewart tossed 5 innings of 2 hit ball. He allowed just 1 run and struck out 8.

    Whitefish got on the board early in this one, scoring 6 runs in the top of the 1st, highlighted by an Avery Caton 2 RBI Double.

    The Dawgs would add 3 more in the 3rd inning of action as Calvin Eisenbarth brought home 2 when he hit into a fielder's choice.

    Ryan Conklin then connected on his first hit of the season, a deep double that scored 1.

    The Dawgs tacked on one more in the fifth and Carter Godsey hit a 2 RBI Double in the 6th as the Dawgs went on to 10-run rule the Pirates.

    Luke Dalen had a pair of hits for the Dawgs, to lead the way. 

    Godsey led the way with 3 RBI.

    The Dawgs walked 9 times in the game and had 4 stolen bases.

    With the win, the Whitefish Bulldog Baseball team improves to 2-1 on the season while Polson drops to 2-1.

    Up Next: Whitefish Baseball is on the road Thursday and Friday, facing Noxon/Thompson Falls and Plains/Hot Springs.

    The Next game that will be broadcast live on 102.7FM and 1240AM is the Dawgs home opener, Monday, vs. Eureka. Monday's game vs. Eureka is scheduled for a 4:30 start time.
