Browning Comes Back to Defeat Whitefish Boys Basketball

    The Whitefish Bulldog Boys Basketball team played host to Browning, Tuesday night.

    In a match-up of Northwest "A" Conference foes, it was the Browning Indians coming away victorious.

    Browning would use a 2nd half comeback to down the Whitefish Bulldogs 53-46.

    The Dogs got off to an early 19-5 lead, rolling on all cylinders after one quarter of play.

    The 2nd quarter was a much more evenly played between the two teams while foul trouble would begin to haunt the Dogs.

    Whitefish went into the halftime break up 33-19 but had six players battling foul trouble.

    Browning would take advantage in the second half led by their top scorer Jude Reevis who scored 15 of his game high 18 in the 2nd half.

    Browning outscored Whitefish in the 3rd quarter 16-5 and the Dogs saw their lead cut to three, after three quarters, 38-35.

    Browning would take over down the stretch, taking their first lead of the game late in the fourth. Reevis would knock down a clutch jumper to put Browning up 5 and the Indians soared back to snatch the win.

    Browning outscored Whitefish in the 2nd half 34-13.

    Jude Reevis led Browning with 18 points while Joshua Skunkcap added 11.

    Whitefish was led by CJ Thew with 14 while Carson Gulick had 11.

    With the win Browning holds firm as the No. 2 Seed in the Northwest "A" with a 10-4 overall record, 7-2 in conference play.

    Whitefish falls to 5-9 overall, 2-7 in league play.

    Meanwhile, the Whitefish and Browning girls teams would match-up in Browning.

    Browning would come away with the 69-59 victory.

    Whitefish's 59 points is the 2nd most they've scored this season.

    The Lady Indians would start off strong, leading 28-17 after the first quarter.

    Whitefish would battle back, cutting into the lead and trailed at the half 44-38.

    The Lady Dogs would win the 3rd quarter and trailed by four, 56-52, after three.

    Browning would hold on for the win late.

    With the win the Browning girls are now 7-8 overall, 5-4 in league play.

    The Lady Dogs are now 4-10 overall, 2-7 in conference play.

    Up Next: Both teams will match-up against Libby on Thursday. The boys are on the road with the girls at home.

    It is senior night for the Lady Dogs, on Thursday, who will also celebrate their 50th anniversary of Girls basketball at Whitefish.
