Frenchtown Sweeps Whitefish Basketball in Saturday Matinee

The Whitefish Basketball teams hit the road, Saturday, for a non-conference double header at Frenchtown.

This was a make-up from a game that was originally going to be played in the beginning of January.

The girls teams would hit the hardwood first as the Lady Dogs got a look at one of the best player's in the state, Frenchtown's Mason Quinn.

Quinn dropped a game high 35 points and the Lady Broncs routed Whitefish by a final score of 55-10.

Frenchtown led coast-to-coast in this one as the Lady Broncs showed why they're the top team in the Southwest "A" Conference.

With the loss, Whitefish falls to 5-11 overall, 3-7 in conference play.

In the second of the double header, the boys teams took to the hardwood as Frenchtown lit up the scoreboard.

The Broncs would drop in 29 first quarter points and had 49 at the half.

Whitefish would stick with them, however, tallying 37 first half points.

The Dogs would cut into Frenchtown's lead early in the 3rd making it single digits but the Broncs took over from their dropping in 28 third quarter points.

Frenchtown would come just shy of triple digits as they won the game by a final score of 96-71.

Offensively, Whitefish proved that they can hang with one of the best teams in Class "A" as their 71 points scored is tied for their largest offensive output of the season.

The Broncs had two players score 30 plus points. Hank Smith had 39 while Cooper Michaud dropped in 31.

With the loss Whitefish falls to 6-10 overall, 3-7 in conference play.
