Ronan Sweeps Whitefish Basketball Thursday Night

    Both Whitefish Basketball teams were back in action Thursday night, matching up with Ronan.

    The Whitefish girls were at home with the boys on the road.

    In the girls game it was all Ronan, all night long. The Maidens led coast-to-coast in this one opening the game on a 7-0 run and never looked back. Ronan led after the first quarter of play, 15-8. 

    The Maidens proceeded to drop in 29 second quarter points and took a 44-13 lead into the halftime break.

    The Maidens put together a quality third quarter as well as they cruised to the 63-20 victory.

    Ronan was led by Kailyn Morengo with 14 points. Arianna Zepeda added 13 while Neveah Perez had 11.

    Whitefish was led by Allie Shors with 7 points.

    With the win, Ronan improves to 9-6 overall, 6-3 in conference play.

    Whitefish falls to 4-9 overall, 2-6 in league play.

    In the boys game, Whitefish was on the road to take on the Chiefs.

    Ronan would lead 17-14 after one quarter of play and held onto a 34-29 lead at the halftime break.

    The Chiefs would grab hold of the game in the 3rd as Whitefish was held to just six points in the frame and Ronan went into the fourth up 49-35.

    Ronan would hang on for the 64-55 win.

    The Chiefs are now 10-5 overall, 6-3 in conference play while the Dogs fall to 5-8 overall, 2-6 in league play.

    Up Next: Both Whitefish teams were scheduled to face-off with Browning tonight but those games have been postponed to Monday February 24th.
