Both Whitefish Basketball teams were in action, Thursday night, taking part in the Divisional Tournament Play-In contests.

The Boys Basketball team was in Bigfork.

The Girls Basketball team was in Polson.

Starting with a look at the boys game:

They say one of the hardest things to do in sports is beat a team three times in one season. That's exactly what Bigfork was trying to do against Whitefish.

The two teams played an even 1st quarter of actions that featured several lead changes. Whitefish and Bigfork would finish the 1st tied at 17 all.

The 2nd quarter saw the defenses settle into the game as the Dogs would hold the Vikings to just six points and went into the halftime break up, 27-23.

The 3rd quarter was a big one for Whitefish, as the Dogs found their rhythm. Whitefish would outscore Bigfork in the frame 13-5 punctuated by a Cooper Dudley buzzer beating three. The Dogs went into the fourth with a 40-28 lead.

Whitefish would score the first basket of the final frame to extend the lead to 42-28, then Bigfork took over...

The Vikings for the second time this season would come back from down double digits to defeat Whitefish, in Bigfork.

The Vikings closed the game on a 19-3 run to down the Dogs 47-43.

With the win Bigfork advances to the Play-In Championship against Polson, Whitefish sees their season come to a close.

Bigfork was led by Treker Hickey with 19 points. Austin Savik had 12.

Whitefish was led by Will Sisson and Scotty Dalen who each scored 13.

    On the girls side:

The Whitefish Lady Bulldogs were in Polson to face the Lady Pirates.

The two teams would split the regular season with each team winning on their home court.

The Polson Pirates came out aggressive and led early after one quarter of play, 12-6.

The Lady Pirates would hold a double digit lead at the half 21-11.

In the second half, Polson again came out strong dropping in 15 3rd quarter points and led 36-18 after three.

Polson only managed two fourth quarter points but hung on for the 38-29 victory.

With the win, Polson advances to the Play-In Championship against Browning, Whitefish sees their season come to a close.

Both Whitefish Basketball teams officially finish their seasons, 6-13 overall, respectfully.
